Each Sunday at 9:00 AM is a Sunday School for ages 8-12.
Desiring God Sunday School is intended to disciple the heart of a child to love Christ Jesus and not just to know stories from the Bible.
Community Bible Church seeks to be Christ Centered in all its ministries and Children's Sunday School is no exception. By "Christ Centered" we mean, among other things, that Christ is the central figure of The Bible and The Church. In a "Christ Centered" curriculum, God is the hero of all the accounts of Scripture. Traditional Sunday School has, at times, lost site of these principles. Let me illustrate:
It was not David's faith that brought Goliath to his death, but the sovereign power of God. God is the hero of that great event and we love Him, seek Him and Worship Him.
God is also the hero of Exodus, The parting of the Red Sea and even the sending of the Great Fish to save His Prophet Jonah from certain death.
It is our intention, but more importantly, our earnest prayer, that God would move the hearts of our children that they might see and love our awesome God and His Son Jesus whom He as sent as our Savior.
You are invited to bring your children to hear and learn about such an awesome God. May God bless you and your family as you seek Him and worship Him in His Church. With The Apostle Paul, this is our constant prayer for you:
"I.... do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:15-23
